Modular timber construction allowed pre-cutting and on-site assembly in a remote location without infrastructure. The project incorporates sustainable systems: biodigester, filter gardens for water treatment, and solar energy to compensate for the lack of electricity.
The paper ceiling by artist Nido Campolongo — used by Cláudio Bernardes in beach houses in the 1980s — was reinterpreted in a more sustainable version, waterproofed with palm wax. Translucent and lasting roughly twenty years, it creates a soft shade that preserves the horizon of carnaúba palms.
